Pastian Family

Memorial Day morning with the Pastian Family at the park was lots of fun.Their 6 month old is a natural super model. She smiled alot and was content and happy. Their son is about to turn 3. {I think maybe today??} He was so cute as I was taking a picture of the family, he said with enthusiasm "We're a family!". So precious! His mommy knows him well and she did a great job conveying his likes and dislikes to me on the questionaire that I often send out before sessions.
LIKES= skittles, Star Wars and M&M's;
DISLIKES= getting picture taken and likes to say "No".
I love a challenge! He he was a good sport and oh so cute. He did let me know when he was "done" though. What really touched me was at the end of the session he turned to me and said, "Miss Wendy Your my favorite". Awww, I was so touched! If you know me you know I'm a sucker for flattery. Right after that he said, "Miss Wendy, yellow is my favorite." Refering to skittles. I wondered for a second if maybe I misunderstood him the first time and maybe he said "yellow is my favorite" and not "you're my favorite". Naaahhh couldn't be. We're buddies.

Newport Beach Maternity Photographer

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to shoot a very fun maternity session. The couple is so kind, warm and down to earth....as well as stylish and beautiful. What a great combination! This is going to be one lucky baby. We started off in their newly remodeled home. Perfectly organized and decorated. Loved it!! If that weren't enough, we then were blessed to head over to the Daddy-to-be's parent's dream house. His mother was able to bring her dream home a into a reality. What a dream house it is. A French Chateu on the bay in Newport, exquisitely decorated with textures and colors and beauty everywhere. Sadly, she recently passed away. There was something that felt so connected to her as we were in the home that she created photographing her son and his wife, expecting her granddaughter. Bitter sweet in deed. My hope is that as this sweet couple and their child see these images through the years they will always feel her spirit.

I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged. Well, it just means I've been really busy. With life, photography..everything. So, anyway I would like to share some of my recent work. These girls were so fun to work with! They were so easy going and natural. Anytime I suggested they do something like climb a wall, tilt their head, spin or what ever, the older girl would say confidentaly, "got it!" Now, I LOVE the toddlers that I photograph, they are so cute! However, they need a bit more coersion to follow directions. So I have to admit it was refreshing to get such cooperation! The fact that these girls are so beautiful and lively made it all the better!

What an honor it was to photograph this sweet family from Texas. Both daughters were adopted from Guatemala. The journey for this family to come together is at first heart wrenching yet ultimately heart warming. I suppose life is often that way. Our hearts get broken and endure such grief yet it is the pain that sometimes opens our hearts to the most incredible love. The attached link is a News special by a TV station in Texas that covered their journey. I feel so blessed to provide lasting memories for this family. Their youngest child just joined their family in April!

It was the girls' first time on our beautiful California Beaches!

Joey...Littlest Heroes Project

This is Joey, keep him in your prayers. He is undergoing chemotherapy for a blood disease called "Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis". He and his family were my first clients from "The Littlest Heroes Project". The Littlest Heroes Project" is an organization in which photogaphers can donate free sessions and prints to families who have a child suffering from a serious illness.

The Holidays...(and preholidays) were quite eventful. What a blessing it was to get so booked with sessions...I even had to turn many requests away. That was so hard for me to do! I was anticipating the arrival of my precious Grandson, Ben. He arrived on 12/13/08 healthy and beautiful. My sweet Grandma Helen was a GREAT, GREAT grandma for about 3 1/2 weeks. She sadly passed away at the age of 90 on January 4th.

I am getting back into the groove now.One of my goals is to utilize my photography to bring joy to others who might not otherwise be able to afford custom photography. I have volunteered with "The Littlest Heroes Project" and will be providng my first session for a sweet little hero who is battling a disease. I will provide more information as that endevour progresses.

Hi! Hopefully you've seen my new website. I'm very excited about it and will probably be fine tuning it for a while. As for this blog...I hope to use it as a way for you to stay current with what is going on with "Natural Bliss Photography" as well as life in general.
If you are were used to viewing your gallery at the old website, don't worry. In the new site simply click on "proofing" and it will take you to the "Smugmug" galleries.

I hope you find the new site user friendly and fun to watch. By the way, I personally LOVE the music (obviously) and I think Michael Alvarado has an exciting career ahead of him. I hope you like him too.
Stay tuned... I plan to create some custom Christmas cards and Baby announcements as time permits.
I will also be creating some "incentive" referral discounts.
